MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
If you are going to be in Montreal on Thursday, December 2, 1993 you may wish to consider attending a concert at 8:00 p.m. with Gene Bertoncini accompanied by Eric Lagace on bass. Gene is a jazz guitarist but he is also an excellent classical guitarist and successfully combines the two. Several years ago, Gene did a similar concert for the Ottawa Guitar Society. Unfortunately, the note we received from Montreal did not indicate the place of the concert and if you are interested in attending, please telephone 1-514-481-9133 for further information.
On Sunday, April 17, 1994, there will be a concert at 11:00 a.m. with a prior brunch at 10:00 a.m. at the Salle du Conseil Maison du Citoyen, rue Laurier a Hull, with Patrick Roux and friends. Participating musicians will include Robert Latreille and all of the pieces in the concert will be Patrick's own compositions. Tickets are $12.00 for adults, $10.00 for students and $24.00 family price.
Patrick Roux and Robert Latreille recently released a new compact disc recording which is now available in local classical music stores including Gallery Music and Counterpoint classics. The CD is well recorded and includes the Chopin Waltz Transcriptions which we heard in their last concert.
If you have any news which you feel would be of interest to the other members of the Society please don't hesitate to let us know by telephoning Ed Honeywell at 782-3212 or Hank Rydzik at 592-1641. The Executive always welcomes your comments and suggestions.
